To all Owners, Managers and Representatives of vessels flying the Cyprus Flag
Subject: The Fisheries Law Cap. 135 and relevant Regulations/Recent amendments for harmonisation with the EU Legislation governing the fishing activities of vessels operating under the flag of the Republic of Cyprus
I wish to refer to the above subject and further to my Circular No. 10/2000 dated 05.09.00. I wish to bring to your attention that as from 7th July 2001 Cyprus flag vessels which have not secured a fishing licence issued by the Director of the Department of Fishing and Marine Research of the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and the Environment, of the Republic of Cyprus, are not allowed to fish outside the territorial waters of the Republic.
The Owners, Managers and Representatives of vessels flying the Cyprus flag are requested to strictly abide by the above national legislation and Circular No. 10/2000.
